Danish second tier side Esbjerg FB have completed the signing of Ghanaian defender Clinton Antwi from Nordsjælland in the on-going summer transfer window.

Antwi penned a season-long loan deal with the club after successful negotiations and passing his mandatory medicals.

The 20-year-old joins Esbjerg for regular playing time ahead of next season.

"I need playing time in relation to my development, and therefore I am happy with the opportunity I now get in Esbjerg," Antwi said after putting pen to paper.

"I look forward to the challenge and my clear ambition is to fight for a place on the team and do my part so that the club can return to the Superliga. I believe this is the right thing for me."

Antwi joined Nordsjælland from the Ghanaian academy Right to Dream and has made 22 appearances since joining them three years ago.

"We still have a strong belief in Clinton, but we agree that he needs more fighting time on the field to continue his development, fulfill his potential and come back even stronger," the club's sporting director Jan Laursen said.

"He gets good opportunities for that in Esbjerg, and we know he will be in good hands with our former coach Ólafur Kristjánsson.

"Clinton is a sympathetic young man with a big heart both on and off the field, and at the same time he has a very high work ethic and always acts professionally in any context. We look forward to following him in Esbjerg."
