The football professional Kevin Danso, who is willing to change, has turned down a training offer from Bundesliga club FC Augsburg, according to the club. "We organized a training session for him in Augsburg for Saturday, but Kevin called in sick," said managing director Stefan Reuter to the "kicker" (Monday). There is an exchange with Danso's brother and advisor Emmanuel, and a meeting is planned for the next few days.

“It has to be seen whether there is a common sporting future or whether we can find a sensible solution with another club. If that doesn't work, the only way is to remind the player of his duties, ”said Reuter.

Apparently, the 22-year-old Austrian wants to strike at another club. The RC Lens in France has already made an offer, but it is too low, as Reuter has already emphasized. The offer was only sent via the advisor, and none of the club itself reported, Reuter said on Sunday. In the event of a change, the FCA wants an adequate fee for the defender who is bound until June 30, 2024.

Due to the failures of Felix Uduokhai (Olympic participation) and Reece Oxford (meniscus operation), FC Augsburg has to absorb a bottleneck in the defense center. Danso apparently sees better prospects in another club in the long term.

Reuter is "incredibly disappointed" with Danso's behavior. Overall, the approach of players willing to change bothers him: "It is a bad habit that contracts are binding for clubs, but if a player has a different idea, then his contract no longer interests him."
