David Moyes Hails 'Immense' Victor Anichebe in 3-0 Thrashing of Strugglers Hull

David Moyes hailed an 'immense' Victor Anichebe after he scored a brace during Sunderland's 3-0 in win over Hull City, in what was their first home win of the season. The Black Cats now sit four points off 17th place and face Liverpool next who drew 0-0 against Southampton this game week.

Both of Sunderland's forwards scored against the Tigers and Moyes' had high praise for the duo, saying:"We have two centre forwards at the moment who look like they are going to score", after Jermaine Defoe scored his 150th Premier League goal to open the scoring in the first-half.

Man-of-the-match Victor Anichebe got some special praise from his long-time manager Moyes, the Scotsman remarking:"I thought Victor was immense today. He wants to be loved and I think the supporters do love him. He is a real powerful boy."

Moyes worked with Anichebe at Everton and his Toffees career was halted by injuries, but now looks to be at his best, of which fans seldom saw at Everton.

He now has three goals in two games and the praise from Moyes didn't end there, he added: "I thought Victor was more impressive today than he was at Bournemouth."

Despite a magnificent performance from his striking due, goalkeeper Jordan Pickford made some impressive saves both early on and in the dying embers.

The keeper was with the England first-team during the international break and Moyes full expects these types of performances:"It's what I expect from Pickford. Some of the saves he has made have been unbelievable."

Sunderland now have two wins on the bounce and despite a shaky start, they now look to be playing with confidence.

The Black Catswill need to be at their best to get at least a point against in-form Liverpool, with the Reds currently sitting joint top of the Premier League, despite dropping points against Southampton.
