Daniel Heber made a shocking transfer from Rot-Weiss Essen to 1. FC Magdeburg in January.

The center defender is now regarded as the leader of defense and an extension of the head coach, Christian Titz. The 28-year-old discusses in the "Bild" how he was able to nail down a position so soon.

In addition to having a significant impact on Daniel Heber's career, FCM coach Christian Titz. The football coach converted his student from a full-back to a center defender during their time working together in Essen, continuing a trend Heber had begun in the Ruhr region.

The defender was then recruited to Magdeburg by Titz over the winter, where after eleven games, Heber has proven to be crucial. The ex-Essener, who is already regarded as the head of defense, issues the orders on the field.

"In any case, I intend to coach more, to help more and not only to look after myself, but also to help my team-mates," explains Heber.

"If I see something, I'll help," And especially in the defense center, the 28-year-old can see the whole field - and intervene: "When someone might have to move out. Or if someone has forgotten a man at the back, then I'll help to get an overview,"

Heber made the transition from Magdeburg to Essen as seamless as possible. Although the 28-year-old is technically in his first professional season.

"What we intend to do is stay up. We should fix that in the next few games," he said. "I'm convinced of that. We also have the quality. Then hopefully you'll see me in the FCM dress next season,"

Heber spoke about the team's performance after eleven games.

"We start well and then in the end we always allow way too much. That's one thing that we can improve. We have to get that under control for the next games receive,"
