Elmina Sharks defender Emmanuel Ampiah has extended his contract with the club after excelling last season.

The left back was handed a new contract after helping the club finish 9th in their debut Ghana Premier League season.

His performances earned him a call up to the Black Stars B team, and was part of the team that won the WAFU Cup of nations in September last year.

Emmanuel Ampiah has been one of the best left backs in the country and was reported to be on the radar of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, who eventually signed Daniel Darkwa from Aduana Stars.

Meanwhile, Sharks weary of losing their most priced assets have now tied him down with a new contract.

He joins six other players who were signed in the transfer window.  The players are Ofoe Ofotsu, Benjamin Arthur, Emmanuel Essuman, Theophilus Adom, Richard Mpong, Sampson Eduku and Tanko Mohammed.

Sharks lost Farouk Mohammed and Umar Farouk to Nigerian club Enyimba FC at the end of last season.
