Defender Jerome Boateng in talks with Sevilla FC

Sevilla Futbol Club is close to parting ways with Sergi Gomez. The Catalan central already has an agreement to sign with Espanyol until June 2024 and the operation could be closed in the next few hours. In this way, Lopetegui would only have three centers (Kounde, Diego Carlos and Rekik) from then on, which could be two if they finally arrive with an important offer for the French defender.

Be that as it may, Sevilla FC must look for at least one man for the center of the rear if the Frenchman does not end up coming out, and from Germany they have placed a whole World champion as a possible reinforcement of the Nervionense team. This is Jérôme Boateng, who at the age of 32 ended his contract with Bayern Munich on June 30 and remains without a team.

Thus, the German newspaper Sport1 assures that the center-back has not lacked offers but the only condition that he would put would be to go to a club that will play the next edition of the Champions League. Teams like Lazio and Fiorentina have knocked on his door but the Romans will compete in the Europa League and the 'viola' will not even compete in European competition. He has also rejected the option of an exotic league like Qatar's.

This same medium reveals that Boateng wants to continue competing at the highest level and that is why he has not stopped training during his vacations waiting to find a team that satisfies him. And that could be Sevilla FC, with whom according to Sport1 talks are being held. But he is not the only one, there are several clubs that are looking for centrals and among them are Manchester United, which is not satisfied only with Varane, and Real Madrid, which will precisely look for a replacement for the French.
