Defender Yusif Mubarik has confirmed that indeed Asante Kotoko has expressed interest to secure his services in the ongoing transfer window.

As reported by footballghana.com earlier today, the player whose contract with Obuasi Ashanti Gold SC recently expired is one of several players being chased by the Porcupine Warriors club.

Speaking to Kumasi-based Oyerepa FM today, Mubarik Yusif has confirmed ongoing talks between his representatives and officials of Asante Kotoko.

“It's true that Kotoko has started talks with me. I got off the phone with one of Kotoko leaders few hours ago”, the defender said.

He added, "I'm no more under contract with AshantiGold SC and ready to join Asante Kotoko.

“I know the number of defenders at Kotoko but I am ready for the competition. I'm a player who likes competitions”.

Last season, the 24-year old defender made 14 appearances for Ashanti Gold SC in the Ghana Premier League before the campaign was suspended as a result of the Coronavirus crisis.
