Defender Nurudeen Yussif Mohammed will continue to play for Asante Kotoko in the upcoming season despite transfer speculations.

The 31-year-old joined the Porcupine Warriors in August 2023 and established himself as one of the key players for the club.

Nurudeen was a standout performer for the Ghanaian giants despite their poor run of form in the recently concluded season.

The defender, who is also a professional nurse returned to the hospital at the end of the season, fueling his departure from the club.

Earlier reports in the media suggested Nurudeen is one of the players set to leave the Porcupine Warriors following the massive clear-out exercise at the club.

Nurudeen is currently working as a nurse in Tamale after the club failed to help him receive a transfer to Kumasi following the closure of the season.

Prior to joining the Kumasi-based club, Asante Kotoko had reportedly promised to help him make a switch to a medical centre in the Ashanti Region to aid his work as a footballer and a nurse.

Nurudeen is also attracting interest from other clubs in the topflight and with his current situation, it is believed the defender could only leave based on a good balance between his two careers.
