Defender Rashid Sumaila makes a donation to a Cape Coast community to help fight Covid-19

Ghanaian international Rashid Sumaila has donated items to a community in Cape Coast in the Central Region to be used for personal protection against the Coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic.

The items donated include 300 Hand sanitizers, 200 pieces of liquid soap, 30 sets of Veronica Buckets, 30 Receiver Bowls and 30 Tissue Papers.

Hon. Baba Ali Sumaila who made the donation on behalf of the defenders said: “the items which worth almost Gh10,000 will be distributed to Kotokuraba Market, Zongo, Wangara Lane, Abura Market, Pedu, Ola Madina, Ayekoo Ayekoo, All Washing bays in Cape Coast, Siwdu Compound, Adisadel, Adisadel Staff Quarters, among other places in Cape Coast."

He added that, "this was the widows mite of Rashid Sumaila to help prevent COVID 19 in his native home of  Cape Coast".

Receiving the items on behalf of the Assembly man, Hon. Hussein Shaibu thanked Rashid Sumaila for his kind gesture and said this donation has come at the right time when these items are needed most by the communities.

Rashid Sumaila is current in Kuwait but is in isolation just like all his Al-Qadsia FC teammates due to the global pandemic which has forced the suspension of the Premier League in the country.
