Defender Sam Mensiro injures himself in training

Ostersund had negative news before this weekend's tough match against Elfsborg. Defender Sam Mensiro was forced out of training and grinned badly.

"I am in pain right now, but I will wait until tomorrow morning and see how it feels then," Mensiro says to Ostersunds Posten.

Ostersunds FK went home with an honorable loss away against Sirius (0-1) in Per Joar Hansen's first match as new coach.

But honorable losses are nothing that will help OFK's vulnerable table position.

With twelve matches left to play, OFK is last in the table with only nine points. Up to Mjallby in a negative qualifying place, there is a difference of seven points before Sunday's home match against the strong top team Elfsborg.

With a great need for points, surely today's incident of training came as a lump in the throat for ÖFK. Sam Mensrio fell ill during an attacking exercise and was forced to break the training in agony.

The right foot was wrapped and Mensiro limped off the arena, reports OP.

"It's what happens in football and it certainly goes well, then it is not certain that he can train tomorrow. It could be bleeding. We have to take it from day to day," says coach Per Joar Hansen to the newspaper.

"I'm in pain right now, but I'll wait until tomorrow morning and see how it feels then," Mensiro says.
