Under-fire Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has revealed that he won't change just because the going has got tough.

A passionate advocate for his own methods, Guardiola remains unfazed by critical sections of the press, butacknowledgedthe tricky times that have come by his side recently. There have also been an increasing number of City fans expressingtheir concern on social media.

In an interview documented by theclub's official website, he said: "I believe in the way I like to play. If I cannot do that, the chairman will decide. But there's no way I will change. I thought maybe it would take less time to adapt, but I am pretty sure it will happen."

The Spaniard did not shy away from the poor showing his side have put in overthe last month, and accepted there have been some shortcomings at the Etihad.

He added: "The last month, we have to accept it's not going well. The last games at home we didn't win. I don't have a defence.

"Watford can play with five or four at the back. I like their strikers. They are really good on set pieces. We didn't deserve what happened [at Leicester]. The players suffered the same like me. It's tough."

City lie fourth in the league, seven points behind Antonio Conte's red-hot Chelsea side. The face Watford next in the league on Wednesday.

Guardiola confirmed Yaya Toure would be in the squad despite reports on Tuesday he admitted to drink-driving. The Ivorian recently declined a complimentary bottle of champagne after receiving aman of the match award, but remarkably got into trouble after 'unintentionally consuming alcohol.'
