Dele Alli to miss England training on Thursday ahead of Panama game

Dele Alli will not train with England on Thursday as the medical team monitor his recovery from a thigh strain.

All 22 other members of the squad will train in what will be England's first full session since their win over Tunisia.

Gareth Southgate's side play Panama in their second Group G game on Sunday.

Alli, who had his injury scanned on Tuesday, said he will do "everything in my power" to reach full fitness for the fixture, having taken to Twitter to voice his frustration at the injury.

Fabian Delph was stripped and seemingly ready to come on when Alli first appeared to take the knock in the first half against Tunisia, but the 22-year-old was kept on until the 80th minute when he was replaced by Ruben Loftus-Cheek.

Southgate, who dislocated his shoulder while out for a run on Wednesday, said Alli had felt he could carry on at half-time despite the knock, with England going in search of a winner having been drawing 1-1 at the break.

Loftus-Cheek has said he is ready to take his opportunity if he is called into England's team to play Panama.
