Democracy Cup: We expect Hearts of Oak to come into the game as a wounded lion – Kotoko midfielder Baba Yahaya

Asante Kotoko midfielder Baba Yahaya has noted that he is expecting a tough game against Hearts of Oak in the Democracy Cup.

The Porcupine Warriors will lock horns with the Phobians next month in the inaugural Democracy Cup match being organised by Parliament.

Speaking in an interview, Baba Yahaya said after Kotoko’s back-to-back wins over Hearts of Oak during the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League season, the Accra-based club will be looking for revenge.

He said Kotoko would prepare well for the game and expect the Phobians to come into the clash as wounded lions.

"We have beaten them twice already, and they will undoubtedly come with a wounded lion's mentality, determined to prevent a third defeat,” Baba Yahaya told Peace FM in an interview monitored by Footballghana.

The Democracy Cup match between Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak will be played on Friday, July 5, at the Accra Sports Stadium.
