The versatile defender joined the Belgian Pro League giants from the Dutch side on a season-long loan deal at the beginning of the 2019/2020 season to relaunch his career following a fallen out with his parent club.

At Anderlecht, he found a home and enjoyed his stay as he established himself as a dependable man at the back for the club throughout the season.

At the end of his loan deal, as he returns to PSV Eindhoven, the Purple and White club had wanted to sign him on a permanent deal.

However, due to the financial challenges presented by the Coronavirus (Covid-19) crisis, they are reportedly not able to fund the transfer of the player.

In line with that, a potential signing of Derrick Luckassen has been pushed away from the table.

He is now expected to talk to other clubs after indicating that he has no plans of playing for PSV again.
