Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone has praised his players for solving the problems during their 2-1 win over Rostovwhile criticising his own decisions during the match, Spanish publicationMarcareports.
A late goal from French forward Antoine Griezmann spared Atleti's blushes at the Vicente Calderon and secured qualification into the last 16 of the Champions League.
The 25-year-old's 29th-minute opener was cancelled out by Rostov striker Serdar Azmoun just sixty seconds later, with Diego Simeone's men struggling to break down Rostov's stubborn defensive structure until the 90th-minute winner.
Simeone admitted he was grateful for his players' ability to turn the game around against 'tough' opponents and put the difficulties during the match down to decisions he made.
"Today I made bad decisions, but the players were able to solve the match," he told reporters after the match on Tuesday.
"I leave upset because I made these bad calls at various points of the match."
"We knew they were going to be a tough opponent and they got a goal on the counter-attack," he added.
The Argentinewas also full of praise for Griezmann who ended his recent goal drought with his brace.
"Griezmann didn't score in recent matches, but he was always a positive part of our attacking play," Simeone said.
"He will be happy to have scored again and we are happy too because we need him to score."
The France international will face his former side, Real Sociedad, when the two sides clash this weekend in La Liga.Los Rojiblancos are three points behind rivals Real Madrid who remain on 24 points at the top of La Liga.
