Dimitri Payet Admits it Would Be 'Fun' to Play With Arsenal Amid Continued Rumours of West Ham Exit

West Ham United star Dimitri Payet has seeminglyfuelled the growing speculation linking him with a move to Arsenal in the near future after admitting that it would be 'fun' to play in the current Gunners team.

Relentless media gossip is responsible for pushing Payet's future at West Ham towards a territory of increasing uncertainty and he has hinted he would have a hard time turning down an offer from a technical footballing side like Arsenal.

But whether there is any truth behind the alleged interest from the Emirates Stadium remains to be seen, as Payet has not actually had any contact from the Gunnersas of yet.

Asked in an interview with RMC for a response to Arsene Wenger apparently saying he was the 'missing piece' at Arsenal, Payet laughed.

"Did he tell you or did you read it? I read it too, but he hasn't told me," the player joked.

"They scored five against [West Ham] at [our] home. When you see them playing, as a technical player, you could only have fun in that team. They are title contenders every year."

Exactly how much it is possible to read into his comments is wholly up for debate.

What I find interesting about the Payet to Arsenal 'come and get me' stories is that he actually said much more about rejoining Marseille.

At the same time, Payet expressed an interest in possibly returning to former club Marseille at some point. The 29-year-old spent two seasons with the famous Mediterranean club and has an early interest in the 'project' being put in place by the new ownership.

"I look a little more [at Marseille's results] now that a new project in progress and a coach (Rudi Garcia) that I know very well is in charge," he said.

"I won't close the door to anything. Marseille has a new project that seems interesting to me. Obviously we are waiting to see what the new owners do. Everybody knows my attachment to this club, I say the greatest, so why not."
