The 21-year-old spent seven years at the famed Barcelona youth academy before opting to ply his trade in Croatia where he rose to prominence.

With speculation rife regarding Olmo and his next destination the Croatian newspaper Sportske Novosti claims the Spaniard is on the brink of a switch to Milan.

Having been left out of an upcoming friendly against NK Lokomotiva the publication believes Olmo would have communicated his desire to leave.

Milan have prepared a €20 million offer which would rise to €30 million through bonuses and the insertion of a percentage of any future resale.

Olmo would sign a five-year contract and earn €2.5 million per season as the Rossoneri seek to fend off competition from their rivals.

The role of Milan director Zvonimir Boban is thought to have been crucial in instigating negotiations between the two clubs.
