Accra Lions forward Rauf Salifu has been a sensation in the Division One League this season after scoring his 20th goal in their 2-1 win over Akosombo Krystal Palace on Tuesday.
The 19-year-old bagged the match-winner to keep Lions on top of the league table as they eye promotion to the Premier League next season.
Salifu came close twice, first from a freekick and then he hit the post after volleying a cross from his strike partner Etti.
With nine minutes left, there was no denying the leading scorer Salifu his twentieth of the season as he pounced on a spilled ball by the Palace goalie who failed to grab Evans Ampofo's freekick.
Accra Lions are currently at the summit with 50 points, after 24 matches played so far.
Salifu's twenty goals means he still has the chance to break Samson Eduku's record of 29 goals. Eduku set that record whiles playing for Karela United in the Division One in 2017.
