Nations Football Club put up a good fight on Friday afternoon to beat Heart of Lions 1-0 in the Division One League Super Cup.
The third edition of the Division One League Super Cup will kick off today, Friday, August 18, at the Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports Complex.
Two newly promoted Premier League sides Heart of Lions and Nations FC locked horns in the first match of the tournament.
Although both teams will play well and created a number of chances in the first half, neither side could get on the scoresheet.
After recess, Nations Football Club upped their game and managed to net the only goal of the game in the 75th minute through a strike from Ishmael Antwi.
The win means Nations FC go top of Group A of the Division One League Super Cup.
This tournament will help Nations FC in the team’s preparations for the debut campaign in the Ghana Premier League.
