Accra Hearts of Oak Public Relations Officer Kwame Opare- Addo has revealed the club has no interest in signing midfielder Bernard Don Bortey after the player returned to the club to play in the G6 competition.

“In the first place, Bernard Don Bortey is not a player of Accra Hearts of Oak. He only came to re-launch his career and the technical men have taken a decision that the criterion that is being used to tip players to be registered, he fell short of it,” he told Class Sports.

Don Bortey had been training with the Phobians and scored in the penalty shoot-out against Aduana in the final of the G6 tournament, which the Phobians lost 4-3 on penalties.

The 33-year-old was hoping to re-launch his career with a return to the club that propelled him to fame but he now has to look elsewhere as the 2016/2017 season beckons.
