Anderlecht have clinched a deal for Newcastle United goalkeeper Matz Sels.

Sels has completed a season-long loan move to Anderlecht.

The Premier League club confirmed on their official website that the 25-year-old has returned to his homeland to link up with the Belgian champions and will remain with Rene Weiler's side until the end of the 2017/18 campaign.

Sels joined the Magpies from Gent in June 2016, having played Champions League football and been voted Belgium's goalkeeper of the year.

Newcastle will have Tim Krul back for the start of pre-season, as well as Karl Darlow, Rob Elliot and England U20 World Cup winner Freddie Woodman.
