Former Ghana Football Association (GFA) boss, Dr Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe is shocked that Ashanti Gold dragged the GFA to court following its demotion to Division Two after being found guilty of match manipulation during a Premier League match against Inter Allies two seasons ago.

Ashgold were demoted to the lower tier alongside Inter Allies FC after being involved in a game which saw the Miners thrashed Allies  7-0 involving two own goals, with viral post-match footage on social media showing what were described as “cheap and deliberate own goals”.

The league was put on hold following a Motion on Notice for Injunction filed at the Human Rights High Court by Ashgold and served on the GFA’s lawyers.

According to Nyaho-Tamakloe,  the officials of Ashantigold should be banned completely from football.

"I am surprised they went to court because this is a clear case of a fraudulent act. They have no case; their behaviour was bad and I will be surprised, if judgement is given in their favour," Dr Nyaho-Tamakloe told Graphic Sports.

"The officials should have been banned completely from football."

He added, "The offence committed is serious and the punishment given to them is appropriate. I would have made it 10 years, if I were the FA president."
