“Draw against Kotoko not a true reflection of the game” - Tamale City coach Hamza Mohammed

Tamale City coach Hamza Mohammed is unhappy about his outfit stalemate against Asante Kotoko in the week 29 fixture on Sunday.

The Ghanaian top-flight newbies put in a spirited performance to earn a significant point from the match after holding the defending champions to a 1-1 stalemate at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi.

The Porcupine Warriors were first to draw the blood in the matchday 29 fixture after youngster Rocky Dwamena scored a sumptuous goal in the 36th minute.

But the Tamale-based club got the equalising goal a few minutes later through Mohammed Yahaya after taking advantage of a defensive mishap by Kotoko.

At the post-match conference, the former Ghana international asserted his side deserved more than a point in the fixture.

“It’s never a true reflection of the game, it’s obvious, everyone has seen it but what can we do, they are the officiating officials, it’s clear and we are happy the match was live, everyone has seen it. We will just take the one point like that and go and prepare for our next game”

Asked if it’s a game they couldn’t have gotten more than a point, he said, “Sure, it’s obvious. In the first half a goal was disallowed, I don’t know but what about the second one but anyway they are officials so we will just take it just like that and prepare for the next match”

Tamale City are now 15th on the league table with 36 points after 29 matches.
