Dreams FC head coach Karim Zito has called on the Ghanaian public to rally behind his team as they prepare to face Egyptian powerhouse Zamalek in the second leg of the CAF Confederation Cup semifinal.

The match, scheduled for Sunday, April 28, 2024, at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi, will be a decisive one for Dreams FC, who held Zamalek to a goalless draw in the first leg in Cairo.

In an interview with Peace FM, as monitored by Footballghana.com, Zito emphasized the importance of having a strong home support to help the team overcome the challenge of playing against a club with a massive following.

"They should come to the park because, in fact, if it wasn't for the good message I have given to my players, we would have faced stage fright in Tunisia. We are coming to face 50,000 supporters (in Cairo), it was nice you see everybody, the wife and children wearing Zamalek, it wasn't easy, they were like ants," he said.

Zito urged Ghanaians to turn out in their numbers to support the team, stressing that Dreams FC is representing the nation and needs the backing of the fans to progress to the final.

"So if we can't even match them, at least it has been a while since we saw Zamalek, they (Ghanaians) should come, we are representing Ghana, they should come and support us and encourage us to qualify to the finals," he added.
