Dreams FC forward John Antwi praises teammates despite CAF Confederation Cup exit

Dreams FC striker John Antwi has eulogized his teammates for their outstanding performance in the CAF Confederation Cup campaign.

The Still Believe lads suffered a setback in their Africa campaign after failing to edge out Zamalek to reach the finals of the competition.

Having returned from Egypt after a goalless draw in the first leg, the Still Believe lads went into the return leg in Kumasi with the advantage but things fell apart after succumbing to a 3-0 defeat at the Baba Yara Stadium.

Goals from Hamza Mathlouthi, Samson Akinyoola and Mostafa Shalaby were enough for the 2019 Champions to secure qualification to the finals of the competition.

However, the veteran striker has taken to social media to commend his teammates despite suffering elimination from the competition.

"To my colleague teammates, boys, let keep our heads up and keep fighting to keep this dream alive. I’m so proud of you guys, you guys are one of the best teammates I have ever played with. Let keep the LOVE and I bet, the future is really bright. Dreams!! In God we trust! #Still_Believe"

Dreams FC will now switch their attention to the Ghana Premier League and the FA Cup, where they have reached the semi-final. The FA Cup holders could return to Africa if they successfully defend their title.
