Ghana Premier League side, Dreams FC have made history by reaching the semi-final of the 2021/22 MTN FA Cup for the first time.

The Dawu-based side defeated  lower-tier side Kotoku Royals 2-1 to achieve the remarkable feat in front of their home fans at the Theatre of Dreams.

Dreams FC took the lead in the 19th minute of the game through attacker Agyenim Boateng but Joe Boateng equalised for the visitors 16 minutes into the 2nd half.

With the game heading to penalty shoot-out, Adamu popped up to bag home the winner to send the stadium in wild jubilation – a historic semi-final berth that has always eluded them.

Dreams FC will face the winner of the match between holders Hearts of Oak and Skyy FC who play on Thursday at the Accra Sports stadium.

The club was formed in 2009 and was promoted to the second level of the Ghanaian football league system in 2014.

Dreams eventually qualified to the Ghana Premier League in 2015 after emerging winners of Zone 3 in the Division One League.
