Highly-flying Dreams FC have shifted their attention to the Ghana Premier League after reaching a significant milestone in the CAF Confederation Cup campaign.
The Ghanaian FA Cup champions defied all odds to reach the semifinals of the Confederations Cup in their maiden appearance after triumphing over Stade Malien.
Dreams FC came from behind to draw with Stade Malien in Kumasi on Sunday following a 2-1 win in Bamako to seal qualification to the last four of the competition.
The 2009 Confederations Cup winners opened the scoring at the Baba Yara Stadium before Sylvester Simba leveled pegging to snatch a draw on home turf.
Having secured semifinals berth, the Still Believe lads have truned their attention to the domestic top-flight campaign.
The Dawu-based club has been unimpressive so far in the local scene despite their exploits in Africa. With 28 points, Dreams FC find themselves in 15th position on the league standings, but has two outstanding games.
Speaking to Wontumi FM monitored by Footballghana.com, the communications director of Dreams FC, Joseph Afrifa Sarfo disclosed his outfit are now focusing on the league having sealed semifinal berth in Africa.
“We have a midweek game against Berekum Chelsea. Now, the focus is on that game because we are not well placed on the league log. We don’t have any assignment in Africa at the moment so we are focusing on the league so we can survive or be in a better position” he said.
