Dutch side Telstar sign Ghanaian midfielder Marcus Agyei-Tabi from Barcelona

Dutch second division side Telstar have completed the signing of Ghanian youngster Marcus Agyei-Tabi McGuane from Barcelona B in the on-going summer transfer window, Footballghana.can report.

Agyei-Tabi penned a season-long loan deal with Telstar after passing his mandatory medicals and completing the formalities.

He joined the Spanish champions from Arsenal last year and went on to feature in 24 games for the first-team.

The 20-year-old spent 12 years at the London based side and made only two senior appearances in the 2017/18 season – against BATE and Red Star Belgrade in the Europa League.

He is reported to have a €25m release clause at the Camp Nou but they have sanctioned his loan move.

The highly-rated youngster has three-years left on his contract with Barcelona.

He had been linked with a summer move to Croatian club Hajduk Split, however, the move didn't materialise hence heading to the Netherlands for the 2019/20 season.

He represented the Republic of Ireland at the 2015 UEFA European U-17 Championship but later decided t0 play for England in November 2015.

The midfielder is eligible to play for England at any level per the FIFA Statutes that allows players to change their nationality only one.
