Eagles swoop for Batshuayi

Roy Hodgson has added to his attacking options at Crystal Palace by signing Michy Batshuayi on a loan deal from Chelsea until the end of this season.

The Belgium international striker has been on loan at Valencia so far this season but has welcomed the opportunity to return to the Premier League.

He said: "I am very happy to be back in London and the Premier League and already looking forward to being on the field - this time in red and blue!

"I'm hungry for game time and goals and I hope I will find all that here at Palace."

The 25-year-old scored 44 goals in 120 games for Standard Liege in his homeland before joining Marseille in 2014. He found the net 33 times in 78 appearances during his two seasons with the French club and signed for Chelsea in the summer of 2016.

However, he has failed to impress at Stamford Bridge and was loaned to Borussia Dortmund last season before featuring in 23 matches for Valencia this term.

He has scored 12 goals in 23 appearances for Belgium and was part of the squad that reached the semi-finals of World Cup 2018.

Palace chairman Steve Parish said: "This is a fantastic signing for Crystal Palace. Michy is a player we've long admired and I'm delighted that we've finally managed to get him in a red and blue shirt. He will be a magnificent addition to our squad."

Palace are 21/20 to beat Fulham in Saturday's crunch London derby and 13/2 to win the match 1-0 with Ryan Babel 7/2 to score at any time in the game.
