Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta has spoken highly of Eddie Nketiah ahead of the striker’s 100th appearance for the team.

When the Gunners face off with Newcastle United this weekend, Eddie Nketiah will reach his centurion of appearances if he gets the opportunity to play.

Speaking at a pre-match press conference, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta said the striker has played many games because his performances have been good.

“He has earned that right [to play 100 times]. We tried to explain to him what his role is in the team and the opportunities he would have like any other player, in relation to his performance.

“The fact he has played that many games is because of his own performances, and the reasons he is giving us to trust him,” Mikel Arteta said as quoted on the Arsenal website.

The game between Newcastle United and Arsenal is scheduled to be played on Saturday, November 4.

The game will kick off at 5:30 at St Marys.
