Egypt coach Carlos Queiroz adds three players to his final AFCON squad

Marwan Hamdi, Mohamed Hamdi, and Ibrahim Adel have been added to Egypt's final 28-man squad for the 2021 African Cup of Nations (AFCON), which will be held in Cameroon from January 9 to February 6.

The 68-year-old Portuguese coach named a 25-man roster for the competition but postponed selecting the last three players.

The record seven-time African champions will begin their Nations Cup campaign against Nigeria on 11 January, followed by Sudan and Guinea-Bissau.

Ahly playmaker Magdi Afsha and Zamalek's defensive midfielder Tarek Hamed have been excluded from the final squad.
