Eintracht Frankfurt coach Oliver Glasner changes Ansgar Knauff's role in attack

Frankfurt coach Oliver Glasner has changed Ansgar Knauff's role in the Eagles' attack. Oliver Glasner positioned right-footed Knauff on the left wing for the Champions League match against Olympique Marseille.

Knauff also attempted to dash inward on occasion, but the defenders continued to stop his attempts.

Knauff fully accepts this new role and Glasner explained the change. “Ansgar made a cold start. I talked to him. He really likes to pull in so he can finish with his right foot,”

The method of playing with a left foot on the left flank is really preferred by the coach. However, due to the personnel situation—in which Christopher Lenz and Luca Pellegrini are injured—variability and adaptability are needed.

Although Knauff never approaches the baseline, he lacks Filip Kostic's ability to deliver effective crosses with his left foot now that he is playing for Juventus Turin.

Ansgar Knauff is currently on loan at Frankfurt, he is contracted to Dortmund until 2024. Knauff has also been nominated for the Golden Boy Award. He was voted the best youngster of the past Europa League season by UEFA.
