Elmina Sharks hit with Covid-19 cases; GPL game against Ebusua Dwarfs in doubt

Ghana Premier League side, Elmina Sharks is the latest club to be hit with coronavirus cases.

Hearts of Oak on yesterday ahead of their game against Aduana Stars confirmed that their players and management will need extra time to do more test to ensure proper safety leaving the FA with no option than to reschedule the game.

However, Sharks were billed to play Ebusua Dwarfs in their 2020/21 Ghana Premier League opener but the game is now in doubt.

A club statement read:

“COVID – 19 ALERT

We can confirm that some of our players have tested positive for COVID 19,” a club statement read.

“They have since been isolated & responding to treatment.

“We wish them well & look forward to them joining us stronger."

Although, Ghana FA is yet to come out with an official release concerning the game involving Dwarfs and Sharks.
