Arsenal midfielder Mohamed Elneny thinks that the club's Community Shield win over Chelsea could prove to be a springboard for the Gunners for the upcoming league season.
The Egyptian played a key role in Gunners' midfield on Sunday as they claimed a penalty shootout win over the Blues at Wembley Stadium.
He told the club's website: "Winning the game will give us such a great push forward before the start of the new season. It will help us to start it in the best possible way, especially as we are waiting for a new hard season.
"We had the motivation to win the game against the league winners - Chelsea - and especially [because it was] almost a week before the start of the league, which will help us a lot.
"This is a tremendous push for our team to look better and play better on and off the pitch."
