Emery demands big performance

Published on: 09 March 2019

Arsenal head coach Unai Emery knows that it will be difficult to beat a Manchester United team that are on a high following their Champions League heroics.

United managed to beat Paris Saint-Germain 3-1 in the French capital on Wednesday to clinch a stunning aggregate victory and reach the quarter-finals of the competition.

In contrast the Gunners lost the first leg of their Europa League round of 16 encounter to Rennes on Thursday and are now 21/20 to qualify for the quarter-finals of the competition.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side have won their last nine away games in all competitions, including a 3-1 FA Cup victory at Emirates Stadium in January.

United are currently fourth in the Premier League table, one place and one point above Arsenal, who are 7/5 to win Sunday's match.

Emery said: "They are in a very good moment but we are together in the table. We played against them one month ago in the FA Cup, we lost 3-1, but I remember we did very good things, created chances.

"We know Sunday is a tough match and it is for everybody an amazing match. We need to have a very big performance from each player and tactically like a team but I am looking forward also to playing against a team like Manchester United and how they are in this moment with each player - very big confidence after the PSG match."

Arsenal are currently available at 15/8 to finish in the top four of the Premier League table this season.
