Emery ignores Ramsey talk

Arsenal boss Unai Emery resisted the opportunity to talk about Aaron Ramsey's future insisting his focus is only on the next match for his side.

The Gunners are at home to Leicester on Monday night as the Premier League resumes after the international break and Emery was reluctant to talk about the Welsh midfielder who seems set to leave the Emirates Stadium after contract talks stalled.

Emery, at a press conference ahead of Monday night's game, said his priority was another strong performance from his team rather than more speculation about Ramsey's future.

He told the gathered media: "My answer is the same. My focus is every single match. The future is tomorrow, no more. I want the mentality for the next match, individual things is not for me to speak on now.

"I want his performance like another player. The last match he started on the bench and played 25 minutes with this performance. Monday, the same, if he will start in the first XI or the bench to be with the focus to help us like another player, no different."

Arsenal are 4/9 to win on Monday with Leicester 11/2 and the draw 7/2.

Arsenal went into the international break on the back of a ninth successive win in all competitions, beating Fulham 5-1 at Craven Cottage.

That run has pushed the Gunners into the top four in the Premier League, two points off the three joint leaders; Manchester City, Liverpool and Chelsea.

Emery also used the press conference to say it was likely that Bernd Leno will continue in goal against Leicester. However Petr Cech, who suffered a hamstring injury against Watford, is improving and is close to a return.

The Gunners are 11/8 to finish the season in the top four.
