Ghanaian midfielder Emmanuel Boateng has officially parted ways with Swedish club IF Elfsborg, marking the end of a chapter that began in the summer of 2021.

The departure comes as Turkish club Konyaspor secures an agreement for Boateng's transfer, paving the way for the 26-year-old to embark on a new phase in his career within the competitive Turkish league.

Boateng's stint with IF Elfsborg has been characterized by dedication, skill, and notable contributions on the field. Having joined the Swedish side from Israeli club Hapoel Tel Aviv, the midfielder leaves behind a legacy of 52 games adorned in the distinctive yellow and black colors. During his tenure, Boateng scored one goal and three assists.

"I want to thank everyone in the association for my 2.5 years here, it has been a great time," he said.

"My time in IF Elfsborg has been fantastic, not least last year. When I came to the club 2.5 years ago, I came to a family. I have met so many great people at the club and everyone has been very welcoming. Not least my team mates who made it easy for me as a foreign player to feel welcome and get into the team and the city in the best possible way.

"We had a great year and I felt that I was involved and helped the team to have a good season that means they will play European qualifiers in the coming season. I'm proud of that, and hopefully the team can go far there.

"Stefan, Jimmy and the entire management staff. All teammates who received me well and made me quickly become part of the Elfsborg family. It has been a pleasure to play with the team for these 2.5 years and I wish everyone the best of luck in the upcoming season.

"The supporters have been absolutely fantastic. They have always supported us, regardless of whether things went well or badly out on the pitch. So I also want to say thank you to everyone who supports the team from the stands. I promise that I will continue to follow IF Elfsborg and watch as many matches as possible, I will continue to be yellow and black," he ended.
