Lomotey admits a bit of slack but promises Amiens SC will bounce back against Valenciennes on Tuesday. Despite the series of matches in a very short period and injuries, Emmanuel Lomotey believes that the Picard club is armed to stop the downward spiral.

Read the interview below:

You have resumed competition against Chambly, after having contracted the Covid in the selection, how are you?

During my Covid in Ghana, it was not easy for me. I was unhappy because I had to come back and join the team to finish the season. It was not easy. I'm very disappointed with our last game because I know we can do better. We must now focus on tomorrow's match (note: Tuesday against Valenciennes) and make sure to take all three points. For my part, I am not 100% physically ready, I work physically to be ready, and I will be tomorrow (Tuesday) to be fully for 90 minutes and give the best for the club.

How do you explain such a poor performance against Chambly?

It’s very bad for a club like Amiens to lose like that. If we don't score, we can't win a match. We have to be more efficient up front and try to take our chance. Sometimes we play, we have a few opportunities, but we have to make sure we try our luck every time. If you only have one, you have to put it in the back and defend well behind. It's difficult for us at the moment, but with the quality present in our team, we can make a difference.

You will have to continue this April marathon without Molla Wague and Nicholas Opoku. It's a hell of a blow...

Playing without Nicholas and Molla is a big loss for us. They’re the best defenders we have on this team, and playing without them will be difficult. We have to give young people the confidence they need to play because they train very well, and they can do better. I think we have to motivate and help them to perform at their best against Valenciennes.

Against Valenciennes, it will be your fourth game in nine days. Do you dread this series of matches?

I don't think we're out of shape, we're ready to play every game. We have to be ready for every game. Some have played so many matches being good. The physique is not a problem. It starts in the head. If you are ready in your head, you will be physically ready for every game. You have to be ready for every game, no matter what. Just having two days off is tough, but you have to be prepared. You can't do anything about the schedule so you have to make sure you're ready for every game,
