Black stars skipper Asamoah Gyan is confident Ghana can make it out of AFCON 2017 group D made up of seven times African Champions Egypt, Uganda and Mali.

The Black stars have failed to lift the AFCON title for over 30 years and will be hoping to make amends for their final lost to Ivory Coast in 2015.

Speaking to Hot FM after the tournament draw, Gyan said his colleagues have enough quality to go through the tough group.

“I was surprised seeing Ghana being pitched against Uganda and Egypt in yesterdays draw which will make the group very difficult but we have enough experience and we have to qualify from the group.” He said.

The Black stars will begin their AFCON 2017 campaign against Uganda on January 17 before taking on Mali and finally face Egypt in group D.
