German-born Ghanaian winger Erich Berko was sent off in Hallescher FC's 1-0 defeat to Greuther Fürth in the DFB Pokal.

Erich Berko started the game at the Leuna Chemie Stadion while defender Gideon Jung playing for Greuther Fürth played full throttle.

Hallescher FC and Greuther Fürth battled hard to gain control of the game in the first half. After the break, the home side took total control of the game.

Armindo Sieb scored the only goal in the 18th minute. After that, Tim Lemperle in the 25th and 29th minute narrowly missed the goal from Halle for the clearly dominant guest at the time.

Erich Berko saw referee Florian Exner's red card immediately after his first foul in added time in the first half.

But with one man less, the hosts played brilliantly, with their two attackers they were more dangerous than in the whole first half.

Dominic Baumann in the 64th minute chased the ball after an attack over half the pitch past the Fürth box.

Andor Bolyki's goal in the 88th minute for the equalizer was denied by the referee due to an offside position.

Hallescher FC will turn their attention to their league game against FC Ingolstadt.
