Ernest Nuamah: Lyon boss Laurent Blanc confirms Ghana teen sensation will be unveiled this week

Ghana teen sensation Ernest Nuamah will officially be unveiled this week as new Olympic Lyon player, according to manager Laurent Blanc.

The Black Stars winger arrived in France last week to finalize his move to the French giants in the ongoing transfer window.

However, there has been a delay in the official announcement of the player who was believed to be joining initially on loan with an obligation to buy at the end of the season in a bid to balance the books for his suitors.

Nuamah has missed three consecutive matches for FC Nordsjaelland due to his imminent move, but there has been no confirmation from the parties involved in the deal.

Blanc has therefore confirmed the deal indicating that the player is already in the team awaiting the main announcement.

“He’s already in Lyon. I think [this] week he’ll officially be a Lyon player,” the French manager said when asked about the 19-year-old after the league game against OGC Nice on Sunday evening.

“He is a player that will bring what he’s capable of bringing. He is a player with a lot of power. He is a young player, a very young player, but he also brings us a bit of competition. Bringing competition to every position is a good thing for everyone. The more competition, the better things will be.”

The winger won three accolades last term due to his swashbuckling performance for FC Nordjaelland.

He was adjudged with the Danish Player of the Year, Young Player of the Year and Player of the Spring.

Nuamah with his incredible performances has attracted interest from other clubs in the past few weeks including Paris Saint Germain, Tottenham Hotspurs, Ajax Amsterdam and Burnley.
