The Ethiopian national team has touched down in Cameroon ahead of the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.

The team arrived in Cameroon on Sunday, December 26, 2021, becoming the first of 31 national teams to travel to the host country ahead of the upcoming AFCON.

According to Abelé GELAGOY who is the head of the Ethiopia delegation, travelling to Cameroon early was very necessary to help the preparation of the team.

"Yes indeed we should arrive early to prepare ourselves and acclimatise to Cameroon, especially with the climate and weather here; especially we wanted to do something different with our team,” he said.

The Ethiopian national team is in Cameroon with a 28-man squad poised to do their country proud when the tournament officially starts on January 9.

Ghana is currently in pitching camp in Doha, Qatar, and is not expected to travel to Cameroon until January 7.
