Europa Conference League: Ibrahim Sadiq gets first AZ Alkmaar start against Aston Villa

Published on: 26 October 2023

Ghana winger Ibrahim Sadiq has been handed his first ever AZ Alkmaar start since joining the club in the summer.

Head coach of the Dutch Eredivisie team Pascal Jansen named the 23-year-old former Ghana U20 forward in his starting XI for the Thursday night clash against Aston Villa.

Since signing for AZ Alkmaar for five years from BK Hacken in Sweden for a reported four million euros, Ibrahim Sadiq has been limited to substitute appearances in all competitions.

The former Right to Dream Academy graduate has five substitute appearances in the Dutch Eredivisie, providing one assist.

In the Europa Conference League, Sadiq has two appearances off the bench, making up a total of seven appearances for AZ Alkmaar.

He will hope the start at the AFAS Stadion will provide the needed boost to kick start his career at AZ Alkmaar.
