European Elite Battling for Real Madrid Star Isco's Signature

Real Madrid playmaker Isco has become frustrated at the lack of playing time he is receiving under manager Zinedine Zidane (the Sun).

Manchester City are the current favourites to sign the Spanish international, but it won't be an easy pursuit as Juventus and Chelsea are also interested in the attacking midfielder, who has won two Champions Leagues during his timeat the Santiago Bernabeu.

The 24-year-old has only started 11 La Liga games this season, but he starred in Real's 2-0 victory over Espanyol on Saturday. According to Marca, the Spaniard rejected a new contract, alerting Europe's elite to his potential availability.

After Saturday's win, Isco said that:I am calm, though I am worried about getting more minutes, I am very happy here, but a player's career is small. We'll make a decision at the end of the season, it's my future at stake.

Real Madrid's president, Florentino Perez, would rather sell Isco this summer, instead of potentially losing him to arch rivals Barcelona on a free transfer in the summer of 2018. In his time at Real so far, he has made 173 appearance and scored 27 goals in all competitions, as well as beingcapped 17 times by Spain, scoring 2 goals in the process.

Isco nearly joined City in the summers of 2012 and 2013, but chose Real Madrid ahead of his former boss, Manuel Pellegrini and the Sky Blues. Current boss Pep Guardiola is well aware that Isco faces an uncertain future in Madrid, meaning it could be third time lucky for the 2012 Premier League champions.
