Everton started the more lively and it was Ross Barkley who had the games first real effort of note. The England international fired high and wide from distancethough, but it was a sign of intent from the hosts.

On 17 minutes, Lukaku fired wide after neat build up play from Mirallas and Barkley, but the Belgian was wide of the target on his weaker right foot.

The Baggies tried to exert an impression on the game and it was via Nacer Chadli and Craig Dawson they tried to cultivate a chance, but Joel Robles snuffed out the hanging cross towards Darren Fletcher.

511 - Morgan Schneiderlin has scored his first PL goal in 511 days, since netting against Everton for Man Utd at Goodison Park. Settled.

Tony Pulis' side angled towards a weak penalty claim on 25 minutes, but referee Graham Scott was having none of it.Hal Robson-Kanu went down after minimal pressure from Ashley Williams and play was allowed to continue.

On the half hour mark, Lukaku almost broke the deadlock, but his header from Leighton Baines' corner went just wide with the home side mounting on the pressure.

The visitors held their own until Mirallas broke the deadlock with 39 minutes on the clock. The Belgian winger tapped home after Barkley's shot was only parried by Ben Foster and the goal certainly created a calm amongst the Toffees faithful.

Koeman's side extended their lead on the brink of half-time via a rare Schneiderlin goal. The Frenchman held off Jake Livermore after Lukaku's through ball and he chipped Foster to send the Blues in at the break with a two goal advantage.

The second half brought little change from the Baggies as they tried to steady the home side's continued pressure. Barkley almost scored when he twisted and turned Gareth McAuley, but he hit the side netting from close range.

The 23-year-old was to make a mark on the game when he set up Lukaku for his customary Goodison Park goal. Barkley didwell down the left and his lifted cross into the box was converted by the former West Brom loanee who gave Foster no chance.

It was the 20th goal of the season for Lukaku who has now bettered his all time Premier League best.
