The agent of Chelsea fullback Abdul Rahman Baba has cast doubt on a return to Schalke next season.

Baba spent last season on-loan with S04, though he missed the second-half of the season due to a knee injury suffered on international duty with Ghana.

Schalke chief Christian Heidel has confirmed their intentions to re-sign the defender next season, with Kicker reporting Baba is already running and kicking a ball.

However, his agent Sascha Empacher has cast doubt on a return to Schalke.

He said: "Baba is not in any emergency situation. Schalke is a topic, but he still has a four-year contract with Chelsea."

Indeed, Fussball Transfers reports Everton have made enquiries about Baba's situation in recent days.
