Everton and Bournemouth lead chase for Inter midfielder

Joao Mario’s return to Inter isn’t expected to be a long one, as Everton and Bournemouth are both in the mix to land the Portuguese midfielder.

The Nerazzurri are keen to say goodbye to the former Sporting Clube star after an underwhelming stay at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza – which has included a six-month loan at West Ham United to close out last season.

With the Hammers having turned down their option to make the move permanent, La Gazzetta dello Sport reports Mario could still be in line for a return to the Premier League.

Everton and Bournemouth have both made their interest known, and it’s believed the Nerazzurri are looking for a deal in the region of €25 million for the 25-year-old.

Joao Mario has netted three goals in 47 appearances for Inter since joining in 2016. During his time at West Ham, he managed two goals in 14 matches.
