Everton and West Brom are both interested in signing out of favour Manchester United midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin, according tothe Telegraph.

Schneiderlin impressed fans with his impressive performances for Southampton and earned a move to Unitedin 2015, featuring in 39 matches in all competitions during his first season at the club.

The Frenchman has found appearances trickier to come by this term, however, and has made just three Premier League appearances for Jose Mourinho's side so far this season.

His regular absence from United's team-sheet has fuelled speculation of a possible transfer away from Old Trafford for the midfielder, with Premier League sides Everton and West Brom reportedly interested. Both sides are set to make bids for Schneiderlin, who could cost around £20m.

Everton have looked more vulnerablein recent weeks and manager Ronald Koeman is eager to sign a defensive midfielder in order to give his side a more solid base. Koeman has experience of managing Schneiderlin, having coached him during their time together at Southampton.

Tony Pulis has players like Darren Fletcher and Claudio Yacob available to him in defensive midfield and understands he faces serious competition in signing Schneiderlin. The Baggies had been interested in signing Sporting Lisbon midfielderWilliam Carvalho but ultimately decided against bidding £21m for the Portugal international.

Fingers crossed we'll get a good couple of points before the window opens, Pulis said.

And then I think if we can get the players we want and targeted it will be pretty exciting for everyone at the football club.
