Everton manager Ronald Koeman has slammed transfer speculation linking the Toffees with a number of Premier League stars.

The Dutchman is understood to be keen on adding players to his squad in the upcoming January transfer window, as he looks to reinvigorate Everton's somewhat underwhelming season.

Recent rumours have suggested that the Toffees are eyeing up potential moves for the likes of Charlton's Ademola Lookman andManchester United duo Memphis Depay and Morgan Schneiderlin.

But as the club prepare to spend money in the new year and add quality to the team, Koeman has hit-out at rumours linking Everton with a number of players.

Speaking in his pre-match press conference, the 53-year-old said (as quoted by Squawka): We have some interest in certain players, but we need to keep that inside.

"Some names are true, some are not true. Most of the time it's b******t!

Having initially claimed 13 points from their first five games of the season, Koeman's side have only won three of their last 13 league matches and a possible top four challenge appears all but over as they now sit 11 points off of fourth placed Arsenal.

The Toffees have only scored 23 league goals so far this season, 10 of which have been scored by top scorer Romelu Lukaku who appears to be the team's main threat upfront.

It is expected that Koeman is considering buying one or two attacking players as he looks to ease the burden on Lukaku and fill the void left by Yannick Bolasie, who will play no further part this season after undergoing surgery on a serious knee injury.
