Speaking toEvertonFC.comafter the game, Koeman said: "I'm very happy with an outstanding team performance.

It was a little bit difficult in the beginning to create and we knew we would get a lot of possession, but we had some difficulties. But then in the 10-15 minutes before half-time, we broke them down with some very good football, good movements. It is always the most difficult to score [first] and open up the game.

"I am very pleased with the second half, because there was a big difference between the Bournemouth game at home and this second half. Of course, you can't compare the two teams - but we played well today, controlled the game and we were dangerous in certain moments of the game.

"The best thing, in my opinion, was the way we brought a lot of attention to how we needed to defend set pieces with how many tall players they had. We were outstanding in that aspect today.

Everton are now just two points off Manchester United in 6th position and they're next in action against Hull City on March 18.
